Fly fishing is growing in popularity every day in South Texas, because of the diverse fisheries located up and down the Gulf Coast. Some of the preeminent fly fishing areas in the world are in our own back yard. Our stretch of coast offers many different angling opportunities, from super shallow flat water for big redfish, trout and flounder to offshore fly fishing for even bigger billfish. This introductory course will cover a variety of techniques, tools, and methods used in tying common saltwater patterns, as well as basic fly casting techniques.

Course Tuition: $120.00 per person, for all eight sessions.

Course Dates: Tuesdays from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm beginning April 2 and ending May 21, 2013. (Eight sessions)

Course Location: The Natural Resources Center, room 1003 on the campus of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

Instructor: Captain Steve Utley, with Don Alcala.
