AP Summer Institutes at the Island University

What to pack: Climate/Clothing
Summer days on the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi campus are often hot and humid with a light afternoon breeze. Participants are encouraged to wear, light, comfortable, casual, clothing. Campus classroom facilities are air-conditioned and due to the diversity of classroom participants comfort levels, we ask that you include a light jacket or sweater.

Air-Travel
Participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements. The distance from the airport to the university is approximately 15.2 miles. Travel time from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi to the Corpus Christi International Airport can take 30 minutes or more depending on traffic.

Transportation
Participants are responsible for transportation to and from the airport/hotel and the institute.

Parking
Parking permits are required to park on the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi campus. Parking is available on a first come- first serve basis. Participants are encouraged to arrive early. A permit and campus map will be enclosed in your confirmation packet. Please park your vehicle in the lot you are assigned. There are no parking fees to park on the campus, however, tickets are issued to vehicles that do not display a permit, park illegally or in lots in which they are not authorized, or do not obey posted speed limits, and other violations.
